The Edo Professionals (UK) main thrust is to make a difference in Nigeria, particularly in Edo state by promoting her prosperity and sustainable regeneration by synergetically integrating Edo professionals technical know-how with government aparatus, polices and programmes.
The Edo Professionals (UK) Aims
The cardinal aims of the Edo Professionals (UK) are:
- To be a conduit for inspiring, enabling, generating, recommending, developing, and implementing innovative and workable ideas, policies, solutions, practices, programmes and projects for the benefit of Nigerians and Edo people worldwide.
- To consult, negotiate and advice the Nigeria government, in particular Edo State government, on inward investment strategy, and actively promote foreign investments, partnerships, strategic alliances and international joint venture with Edo people, government parastatals, businesses and entrepreneurs.
- To propagate, encourage, promote, harness and mobilize support for good, transparent and accountable governance in Nigeria, and Edo State in particular, accordance with the principle of fairness, social justice and the rule of law.
- To propagate the tenets and importance of integrity, honesty and credibility and of sound, articulate, ethical and responsive leadership.
- To stimulate, encourage, motivate and facilitate productivity, efficient resource utilization, empowerment especially at the grassroots, networking amongst Nigerians, and the Edo people in particular.
- To mobilise, educate, and enlighten Edo general public and Nigerians particularly those in diaspora, on key issues, and government policies, programmes, and modus operandi that may impact their life in general.
- To enable and facilitate networking and sharing of ideas and best practice amongst Edo professionals in diaspora.
- To promote, harness support for and proactively encourage enlightened debate of government policies and active participation of the citizens in the economic and political process.
- To promote, influence, arrange and implement a fair appraisal system for persons seeking elected and non-elected office (civil servants) in Nigeria, and Edo State in particular
